Pack 19 News and Events

We're in the middle of our recruitment effort for the 2006/7 scouting year. We just help a Plainfield wide roundup on March 10th and we have six new scouts so far. Another roundup is in the planning stages and we hope to get around 20 new boys for next year.

There is a recruiter badge that cub scouts can earn. If your son knows of someone who is interested, he will qualify for the recruiter badge if their friend joins scouting. I have plenty of application forms if anyone needs them.

CAKE AUCTION SUCH A SUCCESS. THIS YEAR WAS THE
GREATEST ONE YET!!!! WE TOOK IN $787.00, WOW!!!!!

CUBMASTER RUSS

We need volunteers to coordinate: 1) Cub Scout Day Camp, 2) Cub Scout Resident Camp, and 3) Webelos Resident Camp. Without adults to coordinate these events, our pack will not be able to participate in any of the summer campouts.

These events are just starting to be organized and council is looking for Pack 19's coordinators so they can provide us with information and get feedback.

Our pack received forms and applications to compete in the annual T-shirt design contest for the 2006 day camps. This years camp theme is "Mission Impossible". Anyone interested, please let Russ Cederberg know (cederberg6@comcast.net) to obtain the paperwork. The submission deadline is March 31st, 2006.

This years District Winter Event will be held on January 14th, at Francis Field in New Lenox. It starts at 1:00 and runs until 4:00 PM. The cost is $5 and includes a patch, treat, and warm drink.

This has always been a fun event and a good excuse to spend some time outdoors in the winter! There are activities planned for the entire 3 hours to keep the boys busy and moving.

We need to pre-register by the 6th of January. So, if your interested, please contact your den leaders and let them know who will be attending from your family!

tent. If rain,
indoor bunks are available in the lodge. Cooking utilities are supplied.***

Schmidt. Please do not park in staff
& volunteer parking next to camp lodge. By the way, you parents are welcome
to dress up in costume as well if you want. (Mike will
be dressed like Indiana Jones)

Our pack was represented at the Council Olympics on Sunday September, 25th. Take a look at the ribbons that the boys brought home!!! As you can tell, all three participants upheld the high achievement standard for our Pack. Way to go guys!

The yellow streets will remain open, the green will be closed, and the pink is the parade route. Our Pack is #84 in the parade and will be staged on the green colored road that runs north from where the parade route starts. Please try and be there by 8:00 AM.
